How Atlas ranks

Atlas treats knowledge as the product. Before anything is recommended, Atlas collects and structures information about each option. Pages, rankings and recommendations are all downstream expressions of that structured data.

Each Atlas Rating is produced by a deterministic scoring model from structured data — it is never typed in by hand and never sold. The rating combines several decision dimensions:

Each dimension is scored from the underlying data, weighted, and combined into an overall rating. Where data is missing, a dimension scores conservatively and the gap is recorded rather than invented.

Some conditions act as gates: if a casino is not available in a market, lacks an active licence, or carries a critical unresolved risk, it is not recommended regardless of its dimension scores. Active risks also apply penalties that reduce the overall rating. Every gate and penalty is recorded in the rating’s explanation.

Affiliate payments do not influence scores or rankings. Rankings are calculated from structured data — never bought, and never manually reordered for commercial reasons. Any affiliate relationship happens only after the recommendation logic has done its job.

When underlying data changes, ratings are recalculated as a separate, deliberate step — not silently in the background. This keeps scoring transparent and auditable, and means a data edit does not quietly move a ranking on its own.

This methodology is an early version and will evolve. It is not a legal certification or an accuracy guarantee, and it does not claim to be the final word. The current build uses fictional development data to demonstrate the methodology — it does not describe real casinos and is not gambling advice.
